Four Signs You Might Need A New Well Pump

If you rely on a well to fuel water to your home, you obviously want it to be fully functioning. After all, you won't have a water source if this is not the case. One of the most important features of the well is the well pump, so this definitely needs extra care and attention since the well will run dry without it. To prevent a failing pump, regular maintenance is needed. However, you also need to keep a look out for these four signs that a new well pump might be needed:

  1. No Water: If there is no water in your home, chances are the pump is bad and might require replacing. Hopefully, though it's a quick fix since the problem could simply be a blown fuse. Whatever the case, however, you want to hire professionals right away for a full inspection. Be sure that you request repairs to be done unless it absolutely needs to be replaced.
  2. Low Water Pressure: Low water pressure is another sign that the well pump might need replacing. However, the main reason this usually happens is because of an issue with the pressure tank, so it's important that this is checked and repaired first if needed. The other reason could be the need for pipes to be cleaned out because there is a clog. If neither of these are an issue, then it comes down to a problem with the pump, which probably needs replacing at this point.
  3. On Constantly: If the pump is constantly running, it could be because it is failing. However, the hope is that the problem is a faulty sensor that needs repairs. If this isn't the case, though, it's probably a waterlogged tank, which is easily fixed. If you don't have this fixed in time, though, well pump replacement is inevitable as it causes serious damage to overworking it.
  4. Dirty Water: Obviously, you don't want dirty water coming into your home, however, if this happens, there are a couple of things you want to do. First, you want to be sure that you have the entire well system inspected. There's a chance that it could have been installed improperly. Even if it's been there for years, it could be that the issues of improper installation are just starting to show up now. However, the other reason could be the pump, so full inspection is needed at this point.

Whatever sign you notice, you need professionals right away before it becomes worse since the hope if that it's a minor issue before a major one. For more information, contact companies like Jamison  Well Drilling Inc.
